Study: Young children may be as likely as others to transmit COVID-19

It turns out that young children may pose a larger risk for transmitting COVID-19 than previously thought.

New research released by Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago found that kids under 5 years with mild to moderate COVID-19 have a lot more of the virus’ genetic material in the nose, when compared with adults and older children.

That means that young children may be as likely to transmit the virus as other age groups.
